Description: When a CC character is sent to an external application and then sent/imported back to CC5, facial expressions such as Blink / Eye Close cause untouched body parts to move or appear slightly shrunken.
This happens even when no sculpting, topology editing, subdivision change, scale change, texture change, or normal map change is performed in the external application.
The issue occurs with: - Headshot-generated CC characters - Older CC4-origin characters opened/used in CC5
It also occurs through different workflows: - CC5 → GoZ → ZBrush 2022 → GoZ back to CC5 - CC5 → Blender Data Link → Blender 5.1.1 → back to CC5
Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Character Creator 5 v5.07. 2. Load a CC character. This can be either a Headshot-generated character or an older CC4-origin character. 3. Before export, test Blink / Eye Close. The body does not move or shrink. 4. Send the character to ZBrush via GoZ, or to Blender via Data Link. 5. In the external application, do not modify anything. No sculpting, no vertex editing, no topology change, no subdivision change, no transform/scale change. 6. Send/import the character back to CC5. 7. Apply Blink / Eye Close or other facial expressions again. 8. The untouched body mesh appears to move or shrink slightly together with the facial expression.
Expected result: Only the facial area should deform when facial expressions are applied. Untouched body parts should remain unchanged.
Actual result: After the external round-trip, facial expressions affect untouched body areas. The body appears to shrink or move slightly, especially when closing the eyes.
Additional notes: - This is not limited to Headshot characters. - This also happens on CC4-origin characters. - This happens even when sending the character out and back without any edits. - Sending without textures/normal maps does not solve the issue. - Removing ZBrush layers and returning the model without edits does not solve the issue. - This makes external sculpting workflows unusable for animated characters, because facial animation becomes unreliable after the round-trip.
Please investigate whether the external round-trip process changes or corrupts the facial expression reference, bind pose, morph basis, or body/facial deformation data.
