Dear Reallusion team, thank you for your response. Unfortunately, your answer contains both accurate and inaccurate information. I have been using iClone for over 10 years, and the reported "bug" has only appeared since the recent updates in iClone 8 (I am unsure exactly when this began, but I believe it coincides with the introduction of the "overhauled" link system). To provide you with another example, I have created a video demonstrating the linking system in iClone 7, along with a direct comparison to iClone 8 (which worked correctly prior to the latest updates): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs6Itg4-DDY Additionally, I would like to note that the root motion did not disappear when linking to a prop or any other object in the earlier versions. Thank you for taking the time to revisit this matter. Regards, Labrats
Hi LABRATS Here’s the translation: Let me explain how this feature is intended to be used — you may have misunderstood its purpose. It connects the object you specify to the object you want to link. As long as you drive the object you linked to, its child objects will also be driven along its X, Y, and Z axes. The reason your character is not moving is because it is currently linked to the Box. If you want to adjust its position, you can use the Link Offset to set the desired position for your character. Here is the manual for your reference. You can use it alongside the software. https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone-8/Content/ENU/8.0/53-Linkage/Link.htm https://manual.reallusion.com/iClone-8/Content/ENU/8.0/53-Linkage/The_Comparison_of_Linkage_and_Attaching.htm If you still encounter any issues, please feel free to contact us again.
