RTX 4070 Ti Super compatibility with Iclone RTX beta2 260806
I’ve been working in the Iclone RTX beta2 0806 with a large project (11.5 GB) for the last few months using an RTX 2070 Super with no problems ( except long render times) I installed the 4070 Ti Super yesterday and have been struggling to open this project. The View port was high contrast black and white like a negative infrared film then went completely black. The only things visible were cameras. I could not work inside the project, clicking on anything produced an Error message “failed to create texture 0x80070057” then IClone closed and remained corrupted. I removed all but one assets and characters from the project in the standard Iclone , saved as DX11 then converted to RTX in the Beta RTX version and everything is normal and functions properly.

There is something in the original project that seems to be incompatible with this card. I dont want to have to start this mammoth project all over again. A short cut to finding what ever might be incompatible with this card would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi Heb Gnawd,

Thanks for your Feedback,

After converting your project to RTX Render, I was also able to reproduce the 'Failed to create texture' error and the resulting crash on my end. I have reported this issue to the R&D team for further investigation.

Hello Again

As I said previously I am currently exploring the extreme reading / writing activity to C drive that overtaxes my system when opening this project and severely cripples or crashes the system. I have just found a folder named "iClone8Temp" in App/Data/Local/Temp that weighs 89.2 GB. I haven't deleted it yet but this seems to explain the intense system burden while opening this project. I'm not sure this is related to something in the project or to the 4070 TI Super. It may be that there are two separate issues at play.

Hi Soya, thank you for responding,

By suggesting relocating the project and verifying the video driver does this mean you found no anomalies in the project itself?

I have already tried changing the location of the Beta 2 program without success. If by “stable studio driver” you are referring to the Nvidia Display Driver the answer is yes. The RTX 2070 Super was running with 610.88 Studio driver. The 4070 Ti is currently running with 591.86. I was not able to install the 610.88 driver with the new card. This may indicate a hardware problem outside of Iclone but does not explain why the problem is contained within a specific project.

At this moment I am exploring a super charged C drive during the opening of this project. While RAM and CPU are almost inactive the C drive is at 100% reading and writing at 100 – 600 Mb / sec. The computer slows even to camouflaging as crash ( I now wonder if some of the “crashes” I reported weren't just sever slow downs (task manager takes 30 seconds to appear)

I’ve been at this now for a few days. So in the interest of saving time with queries here is a cause -effect report in sequence of what I’ve attempted:

I replaced an RTX 2070 Super with an RTX 4070 Ti SUPERin my existing system (MSI Z790 Gaming Plus WiFi, Intel i7-14700KF, Windows 11).

The system subsequently began experiencing intermittent complete freezes requiring a hard reboot. These freezes were not consistent or easily reproducible.
I was using iClone 8 RTX Beta 2 (build 0806). An existing large project (approximately 11.5 GB) was involved.
A reduced version of the project was successfully used for render-speed testing, but the full 11.5 GB project is a separate and much larger case. I have not been able to establish that the full original project ever successfully opened in RTX Beta 2 with the previous RTX 2070 Super.
With the 4070 Ti SUPER, an RTX render also produced the error:
"Device Removed" / "Finalizing DXR pipeline"

Because of the freezes, I suspected the NVIDIA driver or an interaction between the new GPU and the existing system.

I attempted to install NVIDIA driver 610.88. The installer failed and the computer subsequently froze.
I then used DDU to completely remove the NVIDIA driver and attempted to reinstall driver 596.36. That installation also failed.
At that point I restored a system image to return the computer to the known stable state from before these driver experiments.
Hardware investigation

Windows had previously recorded a WHEA-Logger Event ID 1 ("A fatal hardware error has occurred"). Unfortunately, the event did not contain useful decoded details identifying the specific hardware component.

I also investigated the Intel 13th/14th-generation CPU instability issue because the system uses an i7-14700KF.
The motherboard BIOS is:
H.A0 — 2026-04-01
The CPU microcode currently reported by Windows is:
Update Revision: 33010000 = 0x133
Previous Update Revision: 33010000 = 0x133
The Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool was then run. All tests passed.

Hi,

Please try downloading the Beta 2 ZIP again into a different folder.
We’ve previously recommended installing a stable Studio driver. When reinstalling the driver, please make sure to select Clean Install.
