Activate Appearance Editor grayed out

On CC3 default character the Appearance Editor is unavailable.
Is it a bug or is intended?

I wanted to add some freckles on my character but I can't find a way.

If you switch the character materials back to Traditional it can be edited. Afterward, you can put it back to PBR or Digital Skin Editor. The same technique works when editing clothing.

up voting this, as I've been with Iclone since its inception and I've never heard of complaints taking so long to be addressed.

What if I want use Headshot and customize my own Avatar? 

I can't Activate Appearance Editor!! Is there a work around for that too?

Still no c3 4k models for appearance editor.....it was said to be getting ready for the 3.1 update.....we're currently on 3.2 now....
you all make WAY too much money to just keep dropping the ball every peice of this software ive purchased so far has some major issue.......get your act together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
