Head-Only Export with Facial Animation and Morphs for External Body Parenting
Description:
Please add an option to export a head-only version of a character from Character Creator 4 or iClone that retains all facial animation data, including pose morphs (blendshapes) and facial bone animations (jaw, eyes, neck). This export could exclude the body geometry entirely, providing only the head mesh with rig and morphs intact. Resembling 3dscanstore.com mesh.

Use Case:
I animate facial expressions and lip-sync in iClone/CC4 but want to use my own custom body rig and animations in Cinema 4D, rendered with Octane. The head will be parented to the body rig, and the neck seam will be hidden by clothing, so seamless geometry isn’t necessary. Since Octane does not support opacity tricks, hidden or transparent body parts are not an option.

Why This Matters:

The current “Export Head Only” feature strips morphs or animation data, making it unusable for my workflow.

Workarounds like scaling the body down or deleting body mesh break morphs.

A clean head-only export with full facial animation support would significantly improve integration with external DCC tools and professional pipelines.

Ideal Features:

Export formats: FBX with baked morphs and bone animation or Alembic for vertex animation.

Retain facial rig controls (jaw, eyes, neck bones) and pose morphs for facial expressions and lip sync.

Exclude all body geometry, no hidden mesh workaround required.

Compatible with rendering engines like Octane that don’t support opacity tricks.


Possible Cons: Massive rebuild of pose morph expressions due to reduced vertex count/ structure in CC4/iClone
