Issue 11991
"Reset Motion Root" doesn't work in either iClone 8.5, CC4
I am exporting animations for a game engine (Unity), where the root is matched to the hips over the whole animation. I've read the tutorials and in "advanced fbx settings" I check Reset Motion Root" and export. Checking the resulting fbx, the root motion is not reset. It is keyed on every frame with both position and rotation data.I get this result in exports from both iClone and CC4.

Ideally, there would be separate check boxes to remove Root Translation and Rotation (turn animations need the later but not the former.)

Hi MakeStuff999

This feature is primarily intended for situations where the character’s root is originally positioned at 0,0,0. When using this function during export, it allows the character’s root to follow the motion accordingly.

The original purpose of this feature is not to remove the character’s existing translation or rotation animation.

If possible, we kindly ask for your assistance in recording a short video demonstrating the issue. This will greatly help us better understand the situation, and I will do my best to assist you in resolving the problem.

This is the usage method as described in our previous documentation.

Alternatively, if you could share the tutorial you’re referring to, we would greatly appreciate it.
